"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" - Romans 8:28
We call this special place “Red Bird.” Red Bird Cottage and Farm, LLC is a woman-owned, family-run small business that my husband and I started in 2022, born from both loss and hope.
In 2021, I tragically and unexpectedly lost my father to COVID-19. He was healthy, active, and one of the most important people in my life. His passing turned our world upside down. Not long after, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase two beautiful homes on a quiet, private lake in Central Florida—one for my husband and me, and the other for my newly widowed mother, who had been with my dad since she was just 16 years old.
From the moment we stepped onto the land, we felt a deep connection to it. We knew my father had a hand in it from above. But there was one problem: as a lifelong horse owner, I needed more land to keep our beloved horses nearby. In another divine moment, the neighboring property—complete with a third house and four additional acres—became available, and we knew it was meant to be.
As the saying goes, “When cardinals appear, angels are near.” Since moving here, we’ve seen cardinals often—and with that, Red Bird Cottage and Farm was born.
We’ve poured our hearts and souls into creating a warm, welcoming retreat on this peaceful lakefront farm. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the timeless charm of old Florida. Whether you’re here to relax, fish, paddle on the lake, watch the horses graze, or simply sit under the stars—we hope this place brings you the same sense of peace it brings us every day.
Our home is nearby, and we’re always happy to help. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to make your stay exceptional.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Red Bird Cottage and Farm Family
