Animal Safety Disclaimer
Animals have their own natural defenses. While Alisha will take every reasonable precaution to ensure your safety, it is important to understand that there is always a risk of injury when working with animals—including the possibility of serious injury or, in rare cases, death. Animals may use their mouths, bodies, or natural behaviors, which can result in accidental harm, even while on the ground.
All animals involved in the wellness-building program have been screened by Alisha for temperament and by a veterinarian for health, vaccinations, and disease prevention. These animals are considered safe; however, risk is always present when interacting with animals.
For your safety and the well-being of the animals, do not interact with any animals other than the one assigned to you for that session.
By coming onto the property, it is assumed and Agreed that:
You understand and agree the animal has individual rights, just as each client has rights. Therefore, the animal can determine if and when he/she participates with others. While it may be planned to have an animal in session, the animal will never be forced to do so.
You understand and agree the animal has his/her own quiet space where he/she can rest, sleep, or just take a quiet break. The animal should not be disturbed when he/she is in this area.
You understand and agree the animal is always treated gently. He/she should never be hit, have his/her tail or any other parts pulled, carried, or treated in any other way that is uncomfortable to him/her.
You understand and agree the animal will always need his/her handler (Alisha) present in any situation. Participants are not to be alone with any animals.
You understand and agree if an animal becomes irritated, scared, or in any way acts in a negative manner, the handler will put the animal in a safe place. No other person should touch the animal at these times.
You understand and agree Alisha will provide instruction on how we will be using the animals each time you come. However, goals will be discussed and agreed upon during each session.
You understand and agree this is a tranquil place and yelling, loud noises, harsh language, and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
You understand and agree Alisha has the right to ask you to leave the farm for any reason she feels necessary and at any time. If you are asked to leave for not following rules or breach of safety, a refund for the scheduled session will not be given, you are still responsible for all fees and you may be asked not to return.
You understand and agree a helmet MUST be worn anytime you are mounted or going to mount a horse.
You understand and agree you are not to work with any animals that Alisha has not assigned you to.
